MS KOHELIKA KOHLI

Co-Founder & Creative Director

Kohelika Kohli believes that the role of an architect and interior designer is shaped as much by experience as by formal training. Her early years were marked by discipline and exposure: after being a National Equestrian Champion at the sub-junior level for five consecutive years, she moved to Millfield School in Somerset, England, for her A-levels, where she was appointed Head of School. She studied architecture at the Pratt Institute of Design in New York, graduating in 2004. During this time, she interned with Sir Norman Foster in England, contributing to projects such as the rooftop restaurant competition for the Swiss Re Headquarters in London, the early stages of the Hearst Tower in New York, and the Foster Extension of I.M. Pei’s East Wing at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A Study Abroad Programme in Rome deepened her exposure to classical and modern masters, particularly Palladio, Michelangelo and Carlo Scarpa. She later worked with Oliver Cope Architects in New York, quickly moving from model-making to conceptual and project work. In 2004, she returned to India and founded Kohelika Kohli Architects, which later merged with her mother’s firm, Sunita Kohli Interior Designs Pvt. Ltd., forming K2India. Today, she leads architectural and interior design projects across India, Sri Lanka, England and the USA. Kohelika also designs contemporary furniture for KoKo by K2India, the furniture division spearheaded by her business partner Nidhi Choudhari, known for refined, customised pieces created in collaboration with architects, designers and clients internationally. Her newest pursuit, Kohelika Kohli Karkhana, is an atelier for sculptural, limited-edition pieces exploring materiality, contrast and transformation. Karkhana has been showcased in the Collectibles section at India Design 2025 and will participate in Design Mumbai 2025, India Art Fair 2026, and India Design’s Collectibles section in 2026. Her brands are driven by a pursuit of excellence and a belief that thoughtful design enhances the quality of life everywhere.
