THE K RESIDENCE

This residence in New Delhi is a serene three-storey home set on a generous plot shared with two other family houses. Planned with clarity and hierarchy, all public functions occupy the ground floor, while family spaces are arranged across the first and second floors. Floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors allow the entire ground level to operate as one expansive entertaining space or transform into a series of intimate rooms when closed.

A secondary layer of wooden doors refines privacy and circulation, and opening the glass doors from the entrance lobby enables the whole floor to read as a seamless gathering zone.

The upper levels house the master suite, additional bedrooms, lounges and entertainment rooms, each connected to terraces or balconies. These outdoor extensions reinforce a continuous inside–outside relationship and offer views of the surrounding gardens. The architecture follows Vastushastra principles, ensuring balanced orientation, harmonious planning and abundant natural light. High ceilings and long beam spans were integrated early in the structural conception to minimise columns and achieve clean, unobstructed layouts. As a smart home, the residence incorporates automated clean-air systems, climate control, lighting and sound. The material palette is intentionally timeless, combining Italian and Indian stones in a restrained manner.

The interiors place greater emphasis on furniture, decorative lighting and curated art. With dedicated walls designed for display, the home showcases the clients’ extensive collection of contemporary Indian and international works, allowing the architecture to frame and elevate their personal narrative.
