Co-founder & Creative Director
Kohelika Kohli is the Co-Founder and Creative Director of K2India, established in 2010 with her mother Sunita Kohli, an award-winning interior designer and conservastionist. She did her A-levels from Millfield School in England where she was appointed Head of School.
Kohélika Kohli graduated as an architect in 2004, from the Pratt Institute of Design, New York USA, where she also studied carpentry and photography. She has interned in England with Sir Norman Foster. She has studied architecture in Italy and has travelled extensively throughout North and Southern Italy with her professors and fellow students. On her return to New York, besides architectural school, she has worked for the well-known architectural and design firm, Oliver Cope Architects, who specialize in high-end town houses in New York and the Hamptons.
She returned to India in late 2004 and started her own architecture and design practice and furniture manufacturing firm, Kohelika Kohli Architects, which is now merged with her mother's interior design studio under the umbrella of K2India. The company has executed projects in India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, England and the USA. Her work has been widely featured in architectural, design and lifestyle publications. In 2013 she was on the cover of Architect and Interiors India as one of the leading architects amongst 50 of the gen – next architects and designers. She has had the distinction of being the youngest Indian architect whose project wasfeatured as a cover story inAD India 2015. In 2020 and in the 22nd annual issue of Elle Decor 2023 her projects were featured as cover stories
She has written several articles and essays on design and architecture, among them an essay titled 'Architectonic Harmony' for 'KALA - Essays on Contemporary Design Aesthetics', a book which was launched in October 2022 in Milan and London, in New York in November 2022, in Kathmandu in early February 2023 and most recently at the Lahore Literary Festival in late February 2023. A keen cook, Kohelika has contributed to 'The India Cookbook – From the Tables of My Friends'.
Kohelika is on the Advisory Board of the Manav Rachna School of Design since 2023. She has also been a Trustee of the Museum of Women in the Arts, India since 2005.
Kohelika Kohli and K2India have won several design awards. Her most recent accomplishment has been winning the 'EDIDA Designer of the Year 2023', for her range of furniture, designed for the furniture and product brand KoKo for K2India. At The India Art Fair 2024, Apparao Galleries showcased two of Kohelika's sculpturesque furniture items as pure art.
The company was again selected for Architectural Digest's 'AD100 2023 Award'; received the 'Top 50 Design Practices in India' Award by 'ID Honours 2022'; 'The Most Prestigious Architecture and Interior Design Firm in India' Award by Global Business Reconnect.
